Today marks our first Valentine. Love does not arrive loudly or in grand declarations, but in the quiet way my heart learns your rhythm, in the softness of knowing that this moment, simple, unhurried, and entirely ours, will stay with me longer than anything extravagant ever could. I find poetry in the pauses between our words, in the warmth of your presence that asks for nothing yet offers everything, and in the realization that loving you at the beginning feels like standing at the edge of something tender and endless, where affection grows slowly and patiently, as if time itself is being careful with us.
